Ashbourne Running Club Memberwins Gold Medal for England |
February 2008. The competition was a five sided
match between teams from Holland, Nordrhein/Westfalen (NW Germany), A network of paths crossed open grassland and runnable forest areas before disappearing into vast empty areas of sand, well used by army tanks. Liz completed her 4km cross country course (W60+) in 28.25 minutes, taking the gold medal ahead of the English silver medallist. Fellow Derwent Valley Orienteer member Paul Addison took bronze in the M50 category. Thanks to other good results England retained the trophy. Well done Liz, and thank you for setting such a marvellous example for
members of both clubs to follow. |
